I have been interested in guitars since the 7th grade. I use to take my dads vintage guitar coffee table books and guitar player magazines to study period, where I would dream about making the perfect guitar. At 14, the perfect guitar looked like a Fender Mustang with a Dynamic Vibrato and a lot of toggle switches. I would look at Kurt Cobain's sketches of Jagstang like guitars and became obsessed with all offset guitars. During my teenage years I owned the Fender Cyclone, Fender Jagstang, 1966 Fender Mustang, Epiphone 270, Aria U3 to name a few:-).
Guitars and gear have always been a passion of mine. In high school I was introduced to psychobilly and ended up playing Upright bass in The Quakes from 2007-2010. During this time I learned a lot about how to maintain your instrument. The upright bass is a finicky instrument, especially if you are abusing it like most players in the genre do. While pursuing a bachelor's degree in Philosophy from San Diego State University, I worked at Ramana Music Center for years repairing and setting up guitars. It was here where I became obsessed with the idea of building my own instruments.
I make musical instruments for the working musician, because that's what I am, and that's who I care about:-)
